In Clinic

Face-to-face consultation at our convenient Sunshine Coast clinic.

Your child’s first appointment will typically last up to 45 minutes, in which your paediatrician will assess your most urgent concerns. They will ensure they understand all important aspects of your child’s medical history, complete a thorough, relevant examination, order any further tests that are required and discuss a suitable management plan. Patients will be seen for up to three visits for each new issue, and then discharged back to the care of their General Practitioner or long-term care Paediatrician.

Clinic appointments can be booked online or by phoning the clinic during business hours. Appointments can be made without a referral from a GP, however this will incur a greater out-of-pocket expense.

 

Telehealth

We understand it’s not always possible (or preferable) to make a face-to-face appointment.

Our paediatricians would prefer initial consultations to be face-to-face but are more than happy to conduct a follow up review via a video call, aka ‘telehealth’. 

To organise a telehealth consultation, please phone our friendly clinic staff to let them know about your preference, even if you have booked an appointment online.

 

'Car Consultation'

If you’re worried about infectious symptoms, but still want to see a Paediatrician in the flesh, we can also arrange a ‘Car Consultation’ to review your child in the comfort of their own car seat.

To organise a ‘Car Consultation’ please phone our friendly clinic staff to let them know about your preference, even if you have booked an appointment online.

 

OuR FEES & ReBATES

As specialist paediatricians our fee structure is similar to other specialists and includes a significant medicare rebate with a referral from a GP or other primary care doctor (eg Emergency Department discharge letter with Provider Number).

We know it is not always possible to get a referral when your child is acutely unwell and will also make appointments without a referral, which includes a smaller rebate. If you have any questions, please feel free to email or phone the clinic.

CANCELLATIONS

We understand that your child’s condition might change, requiring a visit to an Emergency Department, or they may get better quicker than expected. Please provide as much notice as possible for any cancellations and remember that we can provide a telehealth service if it would be helpful. Appointments that are not attended, without prior notification will be charged the full service fee.
