PAEDIATRIC EMERGENCY NURSE PRACTITIONER
Heather has been a paediatric nurse for 30 years with over 20 of those in Paediatric Emergency. She has been practicing as a nurse practitioner for the last 7 years.
She is passionate about providing holistic family centred care and engaging with children of all ages.
Heather is a Mother of 5, Gigi of 2 and has a very excitable border collie. In her spare time (is there such a thing) she likes to head to the beach, or a concert and occasionally read a book!
Rebecca Clark
PAEDIATRIC EMERGENCY NURSE PRACTITIONER
Bec has worked in Emergency Departments across South East Queensland and Sydney for more than 20 years, including tertiary Paediatric Emergency, building broad knowledge and expertise in caring for children and families in busy, fast-paced environments. She has been a Paediatric Emergency Nurse Practitioner since 2022 — a role she genuinely loves because it combines advanced clinical care with the fun and playfulness that comes with looking after children.
She is passionate about making healthcare experiences less frightening and more positive for kids and their families, while delivering safe, evidence-based care.
Outside of work, Bec is married with 3 children and enjoys the chaos of a busy family life. Being heavily involved in kids’ sports, when not at work, you’ll usually find her on the sidelines cheering, or planning the next family holiday — especially if it involves the snow.
Gwen Thomson
PAEDIATRIC EMERGENCY NURSE PRACTITIONER
With 16 years of experience in paediatric emergency care at Queensland Children's Hospital. Gwen is a UK-trained Nurse Practitioner dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to children and families.
Outside of work, Gwen is a proud parent of two children and spends weekends supporting their family’s sporting interests at AFL and Rugby League games — especially cheering on the Brisbane Broncos. They also enjoy camping and spending time outdoors, particularly by the lake or ocean.
